Jidong Jia, MD, PhD is a Professor of Medicine at the Liver Research Center, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, the National Key Laboratory of Digestive Health and the National Clinical Research Center for Digestive Diseases in Beijing, China.
Dr. Jia earned his doctorate from Capital Medical University (1993). He completed his postdoctoral training at Klinikum Benjamin Franklin, Free University of Berlin, Germany (1997–1999).
His academic interests include viral, autoimmune and genetic liver diseases, as well as liver fibrosis and cirrhosis.
Professor Jia has served as President of the Chinese Society of Hepatology (2006–2012), the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (2009–2010), and the International Association for the Study of the Liver (2013–2016). He has also served as Associate Editor for Hepatol Intl, Liver Int, JGH, JCTH, and eGastroenterology.
