Dr. Isayama is professor & chairperson in the Department of Gastroenterology, Graduate School of Medicine, Juntendo University. He has published more than 551 peer-reviewed English articles (>2875.60 IF). He has special interest in therapeutic Endoscopy (ERCP, digestive tract stenting) and interventional EUS, and Oncology for pancreato-biliary malignancies. He has many experiences of live-demonstration and invited lectures internationally. He developed many metallic and plastic stents for biliary, pancreatic, digestive tract and interventional-EUS, and is the pioneer of biliary covered self-expandable metallic stent (SEMS). He was chief of making GL committee of EUS-BD, Primary sclerosing cholangitis and endoscopic management of walled-off necrosis, and he is the committee member of clinical practice guidelines of both pancreas cancer and cholangiocarcinoma, and biliary stones. He is a president of T-CAP (Tokyo Conference of Asian Pancreato-biliary Interventional Endoscopy), is international workshop and annually held in Tokyo.
