Raja Affendi Raja Ali graduated with honours degree in medicine and completed the Master of Medical Science and Higher Diploma in clinical teaching from The National University of Ireland (NUI). He was awarded the certificate of completion of specialist training by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in internal medicine, gastroenterology & hepatology. He was also conferred a doctorate of Medicine degree, MD from the NUI for his research on the link between inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and American Gastroenterological Association.
He serves as a Past President to the Malaysia Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Secretary General for the Asia Pacific Association of Gastroenterology, educational committee member for the Asian Organization for Crohn’s and Colitis and Clinical Research Committee member for World Gastroenterology Organization.
He was selected by the World Endoscopy Organization to attend Emerging Stars Program for the year 2017- 2019 and had completed an Oxford Executive Leadership Program and Master in Business Administration.
He currently serves as a Dean, Professor of Medicine and Consultant Gastroenterologist at Sir Jeffrey Cheah Sunway Medical School, Faculty of Medical & Life Sciences, Sunway University, Malaysia.
