Dr. Tajiri has served as President of World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) from May 2022 to July 2024 and is now Senior Advisor of WEO. In addition, he has been active as Vice President of A-PSDE and Secretary General of APDW Federation. He had served for 6 years (2013-2019) as President of Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) and is now President Emeritus of JGES. He was appointed to Chairman and Professor, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Department of Endoscopy, The Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo from 2001 to 2015. He has been serving as Professor in the Department of Innovative Interventional Endoscopy Research at the Jikei University School of Medicine since 2015. He has been awarded many times for his distinguished research achievements and received the Crystal Award from ASGE in 2007 and 2017, the International Service Award from SIED in 2016 and the ESGE Honorary Membership in 2016.
