Noriya Uedo graduated from the School of Medicine, Kagoshima University in 1992. He has joined the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Osaka University, after finishing his internship in the Kawanishi City Hospital. In 1994, he started his training in Gastrointestinal Oncology and Endoscopy in the Osaka Medical Center for Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases. The hospital moved and changed the name as the Osaka International Cancer Institute in 2017 and he is working as a vice-director of the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology. He has a wide spectrum of research exposure and interest which includes 1) advanced endoscopic imaging, 2) endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal neoplasms, and 3) training for advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
