Medical doctor, graduated from Cairo University and had a PhD degree in gastroenterology (with interest in tropical gastroenterology) from the same university. Currently hold professor emeritus position at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute in Cairo, Egypt and consultant in digestive diseases and endoscopy at New Mowasat Hospital in Salmiya, un Kuwait.
Fellow of AGA, ASGE and ACG.
Serving WEO as Outreach Committee Cochair for the Middle East.
Interested in colorectal diseases, IBD, CRC screening, AI in GI, quality in endoscopy including performance measures, sustainable endoscopy, endoscopy-related health hazards, diversity in endoscopy as well as endoscopy education and research in the Middle East.
Currently, I am involved in two projects on green endoscopy in the Middle East with WEO Outreach Committee and endoscopy-related Health hazards with ESGE.
