Clinical Associate Professor Jason Chang is a Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and former Head of the department (2018–2024). With over two decades of experience, he is a leading expert in hepatology, particularly in liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and non-invasive fibrosis assessment. He pioneered Singapore’s Fibroscan® and hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) services and established SGH’s Cirrhosis Clinic in 2012. A/Prof Chang has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles and leads research in AI-assisted fibrosis assessment and cirrhosis outcomes. He holds key academic roles at Duke-NUS, LKCMedicine, and NUS, and is widely recognized for excellence in medical education, receiving the AMEI Golden Apple Award and the SingHealth GCEO Outstanding Educator Award. He has also contributed significantly to healthcare leadership and faculty development.
