Dr. Alex Leow is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and an Honorary Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at the University of Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Malaya.
He is an active member of the Asian EUS Group, a founding member of the ASEAN Education Network in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and the Chairman of the Malaysian IBD Special Interest Group. Additionally, he was the Secretary General of the Organising Committee for the Asia Pacific Digestive Week 2021 and served as an Executive Committee Member of the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology from 2017 to 2023. He is also a member of the International Bowel Ultrasound (IBUS) Group and a certified trainer for The Gastroenterology Network of Intestinal Ultrasound (GENIUS).
Dr. Leow’s areas of expertise include endoscopic ultrasound, inflammatory bowel disease, and intestinal ultrasound for IBD point-of-care. He has authored and co-authored numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at both local and international conferences.
