Dr Lim Chee Hooi is Head of Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Singapore General Hospital and Clinical Director of Clinical Analytics and Insights within the Office of Patient Safety & Quality. He completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine in the United Kingdom, working twenty years in the NHS before relocating to Singapore.
Dr Lim earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Leeds in 2008 for research on gastrointestinal epithelial dysplasia and was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London in 2011. His clinical expertise centres on therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
A passionate advocate for quality improvement, Dr Lim leads multiple statistical signals of improvement projects and serves as co-chair for Clinical Performance Improvement in the Division of Medicine. He champions value-based healthcare initiatives and has published in gastroenterology, with particular focus on Barrett’s oesophagus, inflammatory bowel disease surveillance, and endoscopic quality metrics.
