Florence Wong

Florence Wong, MD is a Full Professor at the University of Toronto and staff Hepatologist at the Toronto General Hospital, Ontario, Canada. She received her medical degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia and completed her postgraduate training in Australia and in Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Wong has focused her clinical and research activities in renal dysfunction in advanced cirrhosis. She was involved with the International Club of Ascites in setting the definition of acute kidney injury- hepatorenal syndrome and conducted many of the associated clinical studies.

She has authored almost 300 peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals, as well as contributing regular reviews, book chapters, editorials, and management guidelines for various academic organizations. She is the recipient of the Gold Medal from the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver, and the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award from the American Association for the Study of the Liver.
