Dr. Jaideep Raj Rao is the senior consultant surgeon at JR surgery at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore and specializes is Minimal Access & Robotic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Oncology Surgery & Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.
Dr. Rao completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Tan Tock Seng Hospital & Singapore General Hospital, Singapore. He was awarded the Health & Manpower Development Plan Fellowship by the Ministry of Health in 2007.Dr. Rao completed his fellowship in Advance Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery in Seoul National University Hospital and Bundang Hospital, Seoul, Korea in 2008.
He was the Senior Consultant & Head of Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric & Minimal Access Surgery and founding director of the Bariatric Surgery Program in Tan Tock Seng Hospital for the last 10 years before founding JR surgery.

Dr. Rao is also one of the founding members & Ex-president of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS), President of the Singapore Hernia Society and member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders, Board of Governors of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA), and Executive Council member of the Asia Pacific hernia society and Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore.

Dr. Rao is actively involved in clinical research and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals. He was also involved in teaching and is a core faculty of the Surgical Residency program in Singapore. In addition, he was a Clinical Teacher at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
