Dr. Zhihua Ran is the Professor of Medicine, Chief of Department of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Center, Zhou Pu Hospital, Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Sciences. Currently, he is the member of International Organization for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IOIBD), Governing board member of Asian Organization of Crohn’s and Colitis (AOCC), Scientific reviewer of ECCO, associated editor of Inflammatory Intestinal Disease, associated editor of Chinese Journal of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
His major clinical and research activities have been focused in the field of gastrointestinal diseases, particularly in inflammatory bowel disease, such as immunopathogenesis of IBD, therapeutic monitoring of IBD etc. As a tutor of Doctorial student, he had published a total of 159 papers and reviews in Chinese Journal and 122 SCI Journals, edited two scientific monographs, manuscript reviewer of 19 SCI Journals. He is the project leader of more than 15 scientific research projects, including five National Natural Science Foundation of China, and two joint projects with Germany. He had received Prof. Anne Ferguson Lecture award from University of Edinburgh in November 2016, Shanghai Conference Ambassador by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration in October 2017.
