Prof Chee-Kiat Tan is a senior consultant in Singapore General Hospital Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Director of the National Organ Transplant Unit, Ministry of Health, Singapore. His academic appointments include Clinical Professor in Duke-NUS Medical School, Adjunct Associate Professor in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University and Clinical Associate Professor in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is a member of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and a Fellow of the American Association for Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD). He also has a Diploma in Medical Education from University of Dundee. He underwent training in Hepatology in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA (1993-1994). His special interest is in HCC and has initiated and maintained his department’s HCC database since 1989 which spawned numerous publications. He participates in advisory boards for liver transplantation, HCC, tumour markers, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
